  1. The installation procedure for this piece of software is truly easy:
  2.  
  3. Step 1: Unpack the archive by typing 'tar -zxvf PortScanner-xx.tar.gz'
  4.     (where 'xx' is the version number). This will create a PortScanner
  5.     directory in which all the files will be installed.
  6.  
  7. Step 2: "cd PortScanner-xx" (where 'xx' is the version number)
  8.     run "make"
  9.     run "make xportscan" if you want to create the GTK+ interface
  10.  
  11. Step 3: su to root
  12.     run "make install"
  13.  
  14. Should you want to remove PortScanner from your machine, su to root and
  15. run "make uninstall" from the PortScanner directory.
  16.

  18. page or type "portscan -?"
